MOREA CHIROPRACTIC IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEW LINE OF NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTATION:

 BIOGENESIS – NUTRACEUTICALS-INC

Foundational Nutrition:

The standard American diet (appropriately abbreviated as SAD), is often high in refined foods, simple carbohydrates, and unhealthy fats while being low in nutritious selections.  A solid foundational nutrition program can be a great starting place for anyone as they begin their journey towards optimal health.

Multivitamin and Mineral:

It is estimated that only a small percentage of Americans consume the recommended seven to thirteen servings of fruits and vegetables they require daily.  Combine that with the statistic that nearly 40% of Americans eat fast food every day and it is easy to determine why dietary imbalances run rampant in our culture.  Even for people who attempt conscientious food choices, meeting all recommended dietary intakes can be difficult.  The nutrient content of foods can be reduced by unaboidable interactions such as cooking, processing and storing.  Nutrients can also be adversely affected by environmental toxins such as herbicides, pesticides, and pollutants.

A good quality multivitamin/mineral formula can be a much needed insurance policy against potential nutritional deficiencies.  Quality is important when choosing a multivitamin/mineral formula.  Many retail brands of “one a day” formulas do not provide readily absorbable forms of essential nutrients or may simply not provide enough nutrients to meet daily needs.

In our office we recommend a product called Juice PlusJuice Plus is made from fresh, high quality fruits and vegetables, and is carefully tested to ensure that no pesticides or other contaminants affect the natural purity of the product.

Juice Plus is the most thoroughly researched name-brand nutritional product on the market today.  Numerous clinical studies in leading universities and hospitals by investigators in the United States, England, Australia, Austria, Italy, and Japan show that Juice Plus:

  • delivers key antioxidants and other phytonutrients that are absorbed by the body;
  • reduces oxidative stress;
  • helps support a healthy immune system and protect DNA; and,
  • positively impacts several key indicators of cardiovascular wellness.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids:

The essential omega-3 fatty acids are another essential nutrient that may be lacking in your diet.  They play a critical role in maintaining the health of cell membranes, neurological function, and cardiovascular health.  A study released in the January 20, 2010 edition of JAMA  found that intake of omega-3 fatty acids correlated with longer telomeres, indicating a correlation between EPA/DHA and cellular longevity.  With all of these well documented benefits, it is easy to understand why Omega-3 supplements have now surpassed multivitamins as the most common nutrition product taken by the American public.  Omega 3-6-9 is a very popular Fish Oil sold in our office that is an emulsified liquid with a sweet lemon flavor and smooth texture.  The process by which it is made reduces those unpleasant ‘fish burps’ some experience with capsules or oils.  It tastes great, and kids and adults alike love it!

Probiotics:

Due to their multitude of health benefits, probiotics are a major component of a basic foundational nutrition protocol.  The human gastrointestinal tract is home to an average of three trillion microorganisms.  Antibiotics, alcohol, caffeine, and poor diet can all have destructive effects on this delicate ecosystem, leaving the body susceptible to invasion of pathogens and gastrointestinal impairments.  A daily probiotic supplement, such as L. acidophilus or L. rhamnosus, has been shown to support proper digestive processes, strengthen the intestinal lining, and protect the GI tract from pathogenic bacteria.  With the emergence of diseases like H1N1, supporting immunity is on everyone’s mind.  A recent study published in Pediatrics found that children who took daily supplements of probiotics showed significant reduction in cold/flu symptoms.

Vitamin D:

The body of evidence that supports vitamin D supplementation in northern latitudes continues to grow.  For many years it was believed that the predominant role of vitamin D was to support calcium metabolism and bone density.  It has become clear in recent years that vitamin D is essential for healthy cell differentiation, immunity, and blood pressure regulation.  The majority of Americans, even those that live in warmer regions, are deficient in vitamin D.
